-
- My ISP uses MultiTech MT2834BR modems, and my Sportster 33.6K internal
- (10/13/95 ROM) seems to have mixed success with them.
-
- My ISP purchased MTs in several batches, so they have different firmware
- revisions. I've kept a log of connections for the past four months. It shows
- the following, sorted by ROM revision:
-
- Clean Dropped MultiTech ROM revision(s)
- ----- ------- -------------------------
- 32 33 2.07
- 38 2 2.08A and 2.09
-
- "Clean" are connections terminated by me. "Dropped" are connections
- terminated by one or the other modem, with some sort of error (e.g., "Unable
- to Retrain").
-
- It appears that disconnects are much more frequent when I connect to the older
- revision MultiTechs. The average length of call is 2.5 hours.
